POSITION SUMMARY:
Department: Nursing
Reporting to: Nurse Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
Leisureworld Caregiving Centre – Orillia is home to 160 residents and currently has openings for Part Time Registered Practical Nurses.
RESPONSIBILITIES (But not limited to):
· Prepares and administers prescribed, routine, medications and treatments as directed by Physician and RN
· Prepares residents for transfers or departures
· Prepares and maintains documentation such as charts, records and incidents reports
· Exercise sound nursing judgment in the timely reporting of any change in client status to the RN as necessary, and takes appropriate action
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Current registration with the College of Nurses
· Proven organizational, observational, interpersonal and communication skills
· Minimum of two years of long-term care experience preferred
· Must be able to effectively read, write and communicate in the English language
EDUCATION:
· Registered Practical Nurse certification
· Certificate in gerontological nursing preferred
· Current BCLS or Heart Saver Certificate an asset
