NQI LEP® Recertification
The first year of certification is included as part of the Leadership Excellence Program® enrollment package fees.
After the first year (from the completion date of NQI CEP®) candidates must recertify their NQI CEP® and NQI CEL® designations annually.
To recertify candidates must submit the following:
- A completed Professional Development Log outlining 15 hours of professional development training and/or activities per year and
- Recertification fees
Fees:
- NQI CEP® - $250 per year or $650 for three years
- NQI CEP® and NQI CEL® - $250 per year or $650 for three years
Examples:
- A candidate enrolls in the Leadership Excellence Program® and completes the required curriculum for NQI CEP® in September 2009. Their NQI CEP® designation is dated and valid until September 2010.
The candidate also completes the required curriculum for NQI CEL® between September 2009 and September 2010. In September 2010, the candidate must recertify both their NQI CEP® and NQI CEL® designations by submitting 15 hours per year of professional development and an annual fee of $250 (or $650 for three years).
- A candidate enrolls in the Leadership Excellence Program® and completes the required curriculum for NQI CEP® in September 2009. Their NQI CEP® designation is dated and valid until September 2010.
The candidate is working on their NQI CEL® between 2009 and 2010 but does not complete the required curriculum by September 2010. In September 2010, the candidate must recertify their NQI CEP® designation by submitting 15 hours per year of professional development and an annual fee of $250 (or $650 for three years).
The candidate then completes the required curriculum for NQI CEL® in March 2011. In September 2011, the candidate must recertify both their NQI CEP® and NQI CEL® designations by submitting 15 hours per year of professional development and an annual fee of $250 (or $650 for three years).
Equivalency and Exemption Policy
Equivalencies or exemptions based on previous course work are assessed on a case-by-case basis. On the recommendation of the NQI LEP® Committee, participants may be granted equivalencies or exemptions, to a maximum of five (5) courses in the NQI LEP® curriculum.
Equivalencies/exemptions may be granted for courses completed in the last five years with a grade of 73% or higher (if applicable).
To be considered for an exemption, candidates must submit a completed NQI LEP® Equivalency/Exemption Form along with supporting documentation, and the assessment fee ($50 + GST per course).
