Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver was recently honoured by the Canadian Mental Health Association

The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV) was recently honoured by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) for an outstanding commitment to employee mental health. It's one of many examples of the employee health and wellness initiatives the REBGV undertakes as part of their Quality Journey.

When one of the Board’s employees began to experience issues with her mental health last year, she turned to her assistant manager, Irene, for assistance. Along with her manager, Noreen, and senior Board staff, they worked to ensure that the employee could find and access the help she needed and ultimately be able to return to the Board when she was ready.

The employee has been a fixture at the REBGV since 2006 and the rest of the staff were glad to see her happy and healthy again. In the employee’s own words: "I am very GRATEFUL that I found a workplace where everyone from management to other departments is very accepting and understanding of me. I couldn’t recover without the understanding, acceptance and love from all the people working here."
