Baseline Review

What is a Base-line Review?

This form of assessment is used to gain input on key elements of the NQI Framework/Criteria, allowing the organization to get a good flavour of current state in a practical and time sensitive manner. It is helpful for an organization to have a reality check of where it currently sits compared to the NQI Framework. The Base-line Review has been designed for this purpose.

Base-line Reviews are available for both Quality and Healthy Workplace.

Who should do a Base-line Review?

Organizations looking at the implementation of a strategic quality journey use the Base-line Review as a starting point, as it leads directly into a review of NQI-PEP Level One (implementation criteria for NQI Criteria). A workbook is provided to all those participating in a focus group session.

How does it work?

NQI facilitates a pre-arranged cross-functional staff focus group session, followed shortly thereafter with a presentation of outcomes to the management team.

NQI provides advice on Base-line review planning, staff communications and set up arrangements.

If, following the NQI facilitated session, the organization wishes to hold additional sessions led by their own internal facilitator then this option is available (NQI would provide a Facilitator Guide for this purpose); this option could be attractive for example to a large multi location organization. The outcome of the Base-line Review will provide leadership with a good sense of where to focus organizational resources on the issues that will advance strategic interests.
