CAE Assessment Services Such an internal assessment is normally completed by those organizations seeking to apply for national recognition through the Canada Awards for Excellence program. The assessment forms a base for their application, in that it will point out key strengths (as well as opportunities) against the full NQI Framework/Criteria. This type of assessment is detailed and takes a good deal of planning and time to carry out; focus group sessions with the leadership team and up to 20% of the employee base (depending on size of the orgaznaition). Organizations with mature quality systems also sometimes use organizational assessment against the full Framework/Criteria as a means to stay on track with their quality focus. An assessment workbook is provided for this assessment, the Canada Awards for Excellence (CAE) Organizational Self-Assessment Workbook (for quality – private and public sector versions, also for the Healthy Workplace Criteria). The workbooks assist an organization to complete their own assessment, however if the they would like direct assistance then NQI can, for a fee and under cover of NQI Assessment Services, lead the internal team throughout the process. Feedback, by NQI Driver, is presented to the leadership team. The Canada Awards for Excellence are Canada’s awards for recognizing outstanding achievement across major functions of the organization. While some awards are single dimensional, NQI Criteria is broad based and looks at many factors to ensure excellence is evident throughout. Companies may choose a CAE verification process that is designed to verify the organization's submission with no detailed . feedback provided. Alternatively, companies may choose a full CAE assessment, which includes verifying the submission, plus a full assessment of strengths and opportunities, with a detailed report by NQI driver. NQI has designed a Progressive Excellence Program (NQI PEP) to assist organizations that are interested in being recognized along the way to excellence, and which also leads to the Canada Awards for Excellence trophy. If an organization has achieved Level 4 in the PEP program, it is eligible to apply for the CAE award. It is not mandatory to be in the PEP program to apply for the CAE Award. Organizations that have completed an assessment based on the CAE Criteria and feel they are ready, can apply directly.
