How do I deal with colleagues who don’t think we have time to worry about quality management?

John Perry replies:

An interesting question, and perhaps the most important one of all. No one is against quality. The issue is how we strategically apply quality management principles and practices into the fabric of how an enterprise is managed. There are those who gain insight through extrinsic motivation, i.e., the results prove it all makes sense, and there are those who gain insight through intrinsic motivation, i.e., they don’t know why but are certain it makes sense.
