TORONTO, Sept. 19, 2005 – Recognizing Xerox’s North American Teleweb operation’s commitment to leadership business performance, the National Quality Institute (NQI) has awarded the company with a Gold trophy, the highest honour under the prestigious Canada Awards for Excellence (CAE) program. NQI is recognizing Xerox’s Teleweb organization that operates sales centres in Saint John, NB and Dartmouth, NS, and sells equipment to customers in the US and Canada, and supplies to Xerox’s Canadian customers.
“The award reflects outstanding achievement in human resource management and other related support processes at Xerox’s North American TeleWeb centres,” says Allan Ebedes, president and CEO, NQI/CAE. “The company’s investment in producing such significant results makes Xerox’s operations a benchmark in its industry and across Canada.”
Xerox Canada Chairman, president and CEO Doug Lord says “An unswerving dedication to quality has helped make Xerox TeleWeb not only an employer of choice in Atlantic Canada, but also now a gold medal award-winner – an honour that underscores the strength and superior talent of the leadership and team in Saint John and Dartmouth.”
The Canada Awards for Excellence are presented annually to private and public sector organizations of all sizes that have displayed outstanding performance in the areas of quality and healthy workplace. To receive the CAE Gold Trophy, organizations must fully meet the NQI Criteria with documented achievements and results.
“The recognition as gold level performers reinforces what we have always known – that excellence underpins everything we do for our customers, employees and shareholders,” says Greg Jones, vice president, North American Teleweb. “This accomplishment truly exemplifies teamwork at its best and every member of our organization should feel extremely proud of this honour.”
The highly respected CAE award recognizes Canadian-based organizations for their performance against world-class criteria for excellence. Xerox Canada was most recently a gold-level recipient in 1989.
The formal award presentation will take place on October 20th at the Canada Awards For Excellence and Performance Excellence Summit in Toronto.
